We are all adrift. The sea of our emotions and the winds of the wicked world shake and buffet our boat. We fear the storm, the rain, the raging sky and the fathomless depth beneath our feet. We are afraid we may blow away, die where we stand or sink to the very bottom, where there is no light and there is no air. How can we find safe haven?

The world is what we experience. This means that on top of what happens beyond our control to our bodies, our minds produce our own misery or joy.

Using Seven Exercises, we can walk Three Paths which together produce The Way Across, what the ancients called ostranastia.

Ostranastia can be achieved through walking the Three Paths by everyone who uses the Seven Exercises every day, with discipline. This discipline is not easy for people, who are constantly distracted by temptations, which is called altpersis.

When altpersis prevents a disciplined commitment to ostranastia, a state of hrystochtos is often the result, as we all know. Although we may laugh about this, this is tragedy in the world.
